Warranty
All of our supplied Goods have a manufacturer supported warranty. Should your product fail within this period please notify us at ( sales@scotbycycles.co.uk ) giving brief details of the fault. (please read “All Returns”). Please contact us first as many warranty returns may be solved without incurring postage costs.
Clothing Returns: Clothing must be returned washed and clean. There will be a minimum £10 charge for any clothing that we must wash before handling a warranty.
Your warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, crash damage, incorrect installation of parts etc, poor maintenance, abuse, neglect, not using the product for its intended purpose, alterations to product.
General wear and tear is not covered by warranty (e.g. batteries, brakes, brake pads/blocks, chains, cables, chain rings, cassettes, rims, tubes, tyres, etc). Corrosion damage due to water, salt, goods left in a humid environment, lack of lubrication/maintenance, etc is not covered by warranty.
Cleaning: Much damage is caused by incorrect cleaning methods, use of pressure washers being one of the biggest offenders! Forcing water and grit into areas that contain oil or grease causes the lubrication to be washed out and replaced with water. When this occurs the wear of parts is greatly accelerated. Excessive wear or damage that is cause by a poor cleaning technique is not covered by warranty.
Lubrication: Without proper lubrication your bike will wear prematurely resulting in costly repairs. Some of the components on your bike need to be lubricated regularly, especially the chain, cables, and wheel bearings, etc. It is important to keep braking areas free of lubricants. If your bike is fitted with disc brakes do not get lubricants on the callipers or rotors. Contaminated brake pads will need to be replaced. Damage caused by a lack of correct lubrication is not covered by warranty.
Servicing should be properly carried out within the manufacturers guidelines. Failure to do so may invalidate your warranty.
Proof of purchase must be presented with all warranty claims.
You are responsible for the security, compensation cover and the transportation costs involved in returning the item to us.
Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable.
