Fast and lightweight, the new Merdia Speeder 100 shares its genes with their leading road bikes. The geometry is sporty yet comfortable with a more upright seating position. Paired with flat bars and powerful hydraulic disc brakes the Speeder is an ideal commuting bike. The frame can accommodate wider tyres making it more versatile - up to 37mm (32mm with mudguards) - and hydraulic disc brakes for all-weather reliability and come with a tapered carbon fork for lightweight and steering precision.
Comfortable Yet Sporty Geometry
Since its redesign for the 2020 season, the SPEEDER has become sportier. By increasing the length of the top tube, Merida has achieved a slightly longer reach, which offers the rider a more sportive riding position while still being on the comfortable side. Furthermore, this geometry change leads to a longer wheelbase, which has a positive effect on directional stability and in combination with the slightly slacker head tube angle, improves the riding stability at speed.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes
All models SPEEDER models now include powerful and easy to modulate hydraulic disc brakes. Hydraulic disc brakes offer great stopping power in any weather, are maintenance-free and are not affected by rough or kinked cables.
Let's Go Wide
The new SPEEDER can take up to 37 mm wide tyres, increasing the ride comfort as well as the grip (and therefore safety). Wider tyres also offer improved puncture protection. Even with fenders being fitted, the SPEEDER can still take up to 32 mm wide tyres.
Merida uses 6066 series aluminium, the highest level used in bike production. Its metallic composition allows it to be extensively hydroformed (a process of forcing a hot emulsion of water and oil through tubes in a negative mould). This allows us to vary wall thicknesses and tune the frame to be both strong where it is needed and flexible where required.
Internal Cable Routing
Cables are routed through the frame, entering, and exiting through smooth sockets. Only a clever system for Merida's internal guiding and fixing guarantees reliable and rattle free routing, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt and gives the bike a cleaner look.
Carbon has great vibration absorbing properties in addition to being lightweight, so ride quality is improved. The carbon tapered steerer provides great stiffness to the front end of the bike, delivering precise and confidence-inspiring handling.
Prolite 66 Triple Butted Aluminium
Merida's proven high-end aluminium (6066) is extremely light and durable. Using triple butted wall thicknesses and hydroforming technology, Merida can tune the aluminium tubes to give the best possible stiffness to weight ratio.
HFS - Hydro Forming System
Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.
TFS - Techno Forming System
Technoforming is a mechanical forming process, shaping the tubes by using negative moulds, at times combined with internal metalcore.
Merida's X-Tapered headtube offers the space for a tapered fork to be fitted. Tapered forks offer superb stiffness and precise and deliver confidence-inspiring steering.
Sometimes called ‘double pass welding’, a second pass over the weld gives a clean organic look to the frame. At first glance, you will be convinced it is carbon.
Internal Cable Routing
Cables are routed through the frame, entering, and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
Ensures that internally routed cables and wires can’t move freely and remain easily accessible for servicing.

Shipping is FREE of charge on bikes (or orders containing bikes) over £499 within Mainland UK and £29.95 on orders containing bikes under £499.
We aim to ship bikes ordered before 12:00 on weekdays that same day with delivery estimated the following working day via DPD, this includes a timed hour slot and options to delay or nominate a neighbour.
Unlike many of our competitors, we only make available to purchase online bikes we actually have in stock here in our store − we don't ever remote warehouse or SIM feedstock with multiple day delays.
Furthermore, we aim to have all our bikes pre-built and available for immediate dispatch or for in-store collection, once you have ordered a bike from us one of our mechanics will package your bike into one of our custom-built boxes.
These extra-large boxes allow us to ship most bikes fully assembled but before we do so our mechanics will carry out a PDI (pre-delivery inspection) on the bike to ensure that before it's prepared for shipping everything is set up correctly, e.g., brakes, gear indexing etc.
Upon receiving your bike, you will simply need to take your new bike out of the box, turn and tighten the handlebars and fit one of the pedals (if your bike comes with pedals). In some instances, such as for road bikes, you may also need to attach the handlebars as they're too wide to simply be rotated so they'll be secured to the side of the frame with zip ties.
