Ultimate with Mounting Kit
Previously known as the Ultimate Six Classic
The updated ORTLIEB Ultimate is one of ORTLIEB's most iconic handlebar bags and an indispensable choice for general cycling and touring. This budget version made of nylon and Cordura features a lockable magnetic lid, a shoulder strap, a reflector and an integrated inner pocket with a zipper.
This bundle includes a mounting kit - simply select the mounting kit version you require from the menu above and choose if you want a locking or non-locking version.
The eBike version allows riders to mount their handlebar bag or basket without repositioning their display, the adapter block has a wider frame and allows mounting of the easy-to-use cable attachment and is compatible with the KLICK fix system by Rixen & Kaul.
Both versions are available with a locking mechanism allowing you to conveniently and securely attach your handlebar bag or basket for periods whilst the bike might be unattended for peace of mind.

ORTLIEB rebranded a number of their products for 2024, the Ultimate with Mounting Kit was previously called the Ultimate Six Classic.
We expect the outer packaging for such products will continue to show the previous product name for some time into 2024 as ORTLIEB use up their stocks of pre-existing packaging, so if you order a Ultimate with Mounting Kit and you receive a boxed or bagged product from us branded as Ultimate Six Classic then don't worry about it - you have recieived the product you ordered. For further information, we have a dedicated page highlighting the changes across the ORTLIEB product portfolio for 2024 onwards.Year2024MSRPfrom £92.00PVC-free?NoIP RatingIP53
IP Ratings Explanation
IP Ratings or Ingress Protection Ratings is an internationally recognised means of rating products of various types in terms of their capacity to prevent dust or liquids from engrossing into them or through them, pretty much all of ORTLIEB’s products bare an IP rating.
The tl;dr as possible explanation is as follows;
The first digit represents the products resistance to dust with ratings ratings above 4 being resistant to anything larger than 1mm and ratings of 5 and 6 being pretty much impenetrable.
The second digit represents the products resistance to liquids, this rating is slightly more complicated than first as aspects such as the pressure of the water being sprayed onto the product and the angle matter.
A rating of 3 means the product can handle sprays of water hitting it within 60 degrees from vertical (basically, this isn’t a problem unless you plan on riding through a typhoon or on a normal summers day here in the Lake District), ratings 4 and above can handle water hitting it from any direction.
Products which bare a rating of 7 (such as some of the BikePacking and Attack products) are the Andy McNab’s of the scale as they’ll handle high pressure water jets from any direction and submersion up to 1 meter in depth.
It’s worth noting that to achieve these ratings, products must be property closed and in some cases with bags which feature roll closures a number of roles are required - each product such have a PDF data sheet available which may detail ORTLIEB’s requirements to achieve the IP rating they’ve been awarded.ClosureMagnetic LidFabricsPD620, PS490Volume5 litresWeight524 gHeight13.5 cmWidth24 cmDepth13 cm
