In light of Fifa’s contentious choice to lift Folarin Balogun’s one-match suspension after his dismissal in the USA’s victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina, England considered appealing Quansah’s red card. However, the 23-year-old will now miss not only the upcoming quarter-final against Norway in Miami but also the potential semi-final against either Argentina or Switzerland.
England is currently grappling with a right-back dilemma, as Reece James remains an injury concern. Ezri Konsa is likely to transition from center-back to fill that position for the match against Norway.
