2026 FIFA World Cup Match Schedule: Full Fixtures & Results (Yes, All of Them)

Right then. Here we go. The full run of fixtures for the 2026 World Cup across the US, Mexico, and Canada. I have typed this out myself, so forgive any slight grumbling along the way. Let us crack on.

Group Stage

Thursday, June 11– finally, some actual football. Mexico City opens the whole thing with Mexico against South Africa. That is a 1pm local kick-off, which works out to 3pm ET. Later that same day – honestly, who scheduled this? – South Korea face Czechia in Zapopan at 8pm local (10pm ET). Two matches. Day one. Fine.

Friday, June 12brings two more. Toronto hosts Canada versus Bosnia and Herzegovina at 3pm ET. Then, because why not, Inglewood gives us United States against Paraguay at 6pm local (9pm ET). Not a bad little double-header, I suppose.

Saturday, June 13– now this is more like it. Four matches. Santa Clara kicks off with Qatar versus Switzerland at noon local (3pm ET). Then East Rutherford gets Brazil against Morocco at 6pm ET. That one could be tasty. Later, Foxborough hosts Haiti versus Scotland at 9pm ET – sorry, Scottish readers, but I have a feeling about that one. And finally, because we cannot have nice things without a late one, Vancouver gives us Australia versus Türkiye at 9pm local. That is midnight ET. June 14. You have been warned.

What Is the 2026 World Cup Format?

Right, so here is the thing. The draw happened on December 5. Forty-eight teams. Twelve groups of four. Each side plays three group matches – one against everyone else in their group.

The top two from each group go through. That bit is the same as always. But here is where it gets different. Because there are 48 teams now, not 32, an extra knockout round has been added. Instead of 16 teams making the first knockout round (which is what we have had since 1998), now 32 teams get out of the group stage.

So that means all 12 group winners and 12 runners-up advance. Plus the eight best third-placed teams. Confused? You will not be the only one. The exact matchups for the round of 32 depend entirely on which groups those third-place teams come from. Honestly, I would need a whiteboard to explain it properly.

From there, it is straight knockout. Winner takes all. If it is level after 90 minutes, we get 30 minutes of extra time – two halves of 15 minutes – and then penalties if no one has scored. The usual stuff.

What Are the Groups for the World Cup?

You can scroll through all the groups using the arrows at the top – our team has laid them out. I am not typing them out again. My fingers hurt.
